Well Nut Must-Haves!

This is an ongoing list of my favorite health and wellness items. Click on the item name to be linked to where you can purchase. These products are changing my life every day!

Reverse Osmosis Under Sink Unit

This under sink unit was recommended to me by my doctor because it is the one he uses in his home. We also purchased the small upgrade for the larger tank and to run an additonal line to our refrigerator. This means that the cold water on our kitchen sink as well as the water and ice that comes from the fridge is clean. It removes metals, chemicals, parasites, viruses and bacteria such as fluoride, chlorine, copper, chromium, lead, arsenic, radium, pharmaceuticals, Campylobacter, Salmonella, Shigella, E. coli, Enteric, Hepatitis A, Norovirus, Rotavirus, and more. I love that I don’t have to buy plastic bottles, which are wasteful, harmful to the environment, plus the plastic seeps into the water and causes health issue. I also like that I can easily have clean ice and water to cook with. Ou water tastes great! You can buy the RO system here.

15 Stages Shower Water Filter

81bqToMVmWL._AC_SL1500_.jpgEffectively REDUCE over 97% of chlorine in addition to impurities, bacteria, heavy metals, lead, iron. Shower purifier PREVENTS skin aging and IMPROVES the condition of your nails, RESTORES damaged hair and REMOVES unpleasant smells. For a family of four it is estimated that you will only need to change the (inexpensive) filter twice a year.  I can feel the difference on my hair and skin when I shower, and expect it to last the two of us a year.

Buy the same shower water filter here.

Fascia & Cellulite Blaster

This is the gadget that is a companion to my dry body brush and massage cups (see below) to help improve my cellulite. Cellulite is largely genetic, but this is something I find helps improve it with regular use. In my opinion, this fascia blaster falls in the middle in regards to “intensity level” of cellulite fighting force. The body brush is the least intense method, and the massage cups pack the largest punch of the three. I personally like switching my tools up and not using the same one every day. A fascia blaster also provides you with a deep tissue massage. It works fast to break up tight fascia tissue and fat cells resulting in a smoother skin and a healthier body. Buy these fascia blasters here and here

Dry Body Brush

I bought this dry body brush along with the collagen (below) for cosmetic purposes, but I am keeping the habit up for the benefit of my health. Every morning and night, I strip down and brush my body with this brush. I start with my feet and work my way up, always brushing in an upwards direction towards the heart. Dry body brushing cleanses the lymphatic system, exfoliates skin, and removes toxins. It’s best to use a non synthetic brush, for example the one I use is made of palm. I originally bought this brush to combat the horrible cellulite on the back of my thighs, and I was flat out amazed when I notice a jaw-dropping difference in just 3 days of using it. Check out the results in my blog post here.

Cupping Therapy

I bought these massage cups for my body and face. Massage cupping is an ancient practice, and is another great nightly habit you can form. It works similarly to dry brushing, in that it is great for your lymphatic system. This set comes with 7 differently sized suction cups and a face exfoliant brush. Five minutes of cupping is supposed to be equal to 30 minutes of of deep tissue massage…and I personally think it feels so good! Help manage acute & chronic pain, boost immune system, improve circulation, reduce inflammation, release toxins (lymphatic drainage and detox), lower blood pressure, relax release endorphins, promote healing, improve sleep, and reduce cellulite.

Menstrual Cup

I write about my many rodeos with birth control and my period woes on my blog– Part 1 and Part 2 can be read by clicking on the links. But if you haven’t heard of a menstrual cup, it is certainly something worth reading up on. Essentially, it is a flexible, medical grade silicone, reusable cup that you can use in lieu of tampons or pads. Most brands offer cups that come in multiple sizes, depending on whether you have given birth or not or your flow amount. They are chemical free, ecofriendly, and carry no risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome. There are numerous benefits including: you can wear it for 12 hours, it holds a lot more fluid, it saves you a buttload of money, you don’t have to worry about that germy tampon string, and not putting any chemicals or perfumed products up there is going to make for a happier, healthier vagina. There are thousands of testimonies online from people who have less cramps, fewer feminine infections, and lighter periods after switching to a mensural cup. Abnormal pap smears, rashes and yeast infections have been linked to the use of pads and tampons. Years ago I started out with the Diva Cup, and I currently use a Lena Cup, which you can buy here

Menstrual Cup Sterilizer

512bBlnmkSL._AC_SL1000_.jpgTips for keeping your menstrual cup in tip top shape? I use this steamer at the end of each period. It kills 99.9% of harmful bacteria and germs without using chemicals and sterilizes in just 3 minutes. It’s proven to be more effective than boiling, and you don’t have to worry about accidentally over boiling and ruining the integrity of your cup. Other tips: If your cup starts to show stains over time, place it overnight in a small container to soak in hydrogen peroxide. I do this probably twice a year, and use the steamer once a month, and my cup always looks brand new with each month when I go to use it! Buy the steamer here.

Period Panties/Cloth Pads

imageedit__2375920720_016ac663-c67d-4567-ab83-98ddfd17165b_720xPeriod underwear is typically really expensive. I’d looked at major brands for years, and never purchased for that reason. Well, I got really lucky one day and by chance happened upon an91lV+1xrtmL._AC_SL1500_.jpg online sale and was able to buy a 5 pack of period panties for $7 each here. I use my cup on my first/ heaviest day of my period, but these panties can suffice for the other days if I wish. I especially like wearing them at night to sleep in while on my period. If you don’t like the idea of free bleeding into your panties, they are also suitable for menstrual cup /pad/ tampon “back up”, light bladder leakage, perspiration, postpartum bleeding, etc. I rinse under running water, then soak them in our laundry wash tub, and then wash them by themselves, and hang to dry.

I bought my cloth pads here. There are a variety of designs you can choose from as well as different sizes. It also includes a free wet bag. I clean them the same way I clean my period panties. If you don’t have a wash sink in your laundry room, I think a collapsible wash dishpan like this here would be handy to have.

One of the first concerns people express when talking about switching to natural menstrual products such as cups or reusable pads/ period panties, is a concern it will be “gross” or worried about smells. I think anyone who has switched to using natural products like these will tell you that those “smells”  you may noticed when using traditional tampons and pads do not exist when using natural products. Thats because your not stuffing chemicals in/ on your hoo-ha! And if you are thinking about germs, it’s actually much more sanitary.

Remineralizing Toothpaste

20150314-img_5163-edit.jpgWe use a variety of natural toothpaste brands such as Spry and Hello, just to name a couple. However, a healthy lifestyle for me can mean eating a lot of fruits and drinking my homemade lemon water daily, which can be hard on my teeth. It’s important to remineralize your teeth, and Boka is my favorite natural toothpaste for this. 1fbb41a7acead26a51389ef367e1ccfe--artificial-essential-oils.jpgEla Mint features nano-hydroxyapatite, a modern evolution in medicine and dentistry (the mineral makes up the primary foundation of teeth and bones—that’s why it’s so restorative). Plus, it’s 100% non-toxic and fluoride-free. You can buy it here and save 15% with my link. This Spry toothpaste is an old favorite for regular natural toothpaste if you like a minty toothpaste. If you are wanting a natural toothpaste that seems just like regular toothpaste, it’s a safe bet for you.

Oral Care716TkjtYHoL._SX425_.jpg

This is by far my favorite toothbrush I have ever used, and a must for my sensitive teeth and gums. Clinically proven to remove up to 10x more plaque than a manual toothbrush. BURST reduces gum bleeding (gingivitis) up to 3x more than a manual toothbrush and has a 1 MONTH BATTERY LIFE. Over 25,000 Dental Professionals use and recommend BURST and it has nearly 30,000 customer reviews. Buy it here. I was able to search for promo codes online, and easily found one for $30 off making the toothbrush only $40. It comes with a lifetime warranty, and they automatically send me a replacement head every 3 months. I have also used their coconut whitening strips, which work, and I feel like are a better and safer alternative to dentist treatments or whitening strips you can buy at the store.

Acupressure Mat

91OjyHOcrfL._AC_SL1500_.jpgThousands of acupressure points stimulate nerves and improve blood circulation for increased energy and faster muscle recovery, making it great for users who sit at a desk daily, as well as active individuals and athletes. Naturally reduce muscle tension, back pain, and headaches by simply laying on the mat daily for 10-30 minutes. Acupressure releases endorphins that block pain, and helps relax the muscles in your back, neck and feet. I try to lay on my mat before bed each night for at least 15 minutes, and find it very relaxing. Buy it here.

Force of Nature Natural Cleaner

1152-X-800-b2b-science.jpgSay hello to the multi-purpose cleaner that kills 99.9% of germs with no toxic chemicals. EPA registered disinfectant that kills: Staph, MRSA, Norovirus, Influenza A, Salmonella, and Listeria. Force of Nature miniaturizes the electrolyzed water technology from the industrial space. Salt, water and vinegar are converted to electrolyzed water when an electrical current changes the chemical composition of the solution into two new ingredients: HYPOCHLOROUS ACID- The same germ-killing substance your immune system makes and SODIUM HYDROXIDE- A detergent common in toothpaste, skin care and cleaners. It contains only .0000003%, yet cleans as well as the top cleaning brands. No toxic chemicals harmful to our precious family members or the Earth. And of course cruelty-free! I prefer to use this cleaner to clean things that you can’t wipe off, such as the air, carseats, purses/ diaper bags, carpet, and couches/ other furniture. I also like to spray it on and around the toilets in between actual cleanings. And this would be my go to cleaning product in the bathroom if anyone in the house had the dreaded stomach virus, since most cleaners don’t kill Norovirus, but this does. I snagged this system at 50% off so watch out for sales and search for promo codes! Buy it here.Screen Shot 2020-01-08 at 2.35.42 PM 1

Laundry Faves

This athletic wear laundry detergent can be bought heScreen Shot 2020-01-08 at 3.42.11 PM.pngre with my link and you will get 10% off. This all natural, no-toxic powder can be used as regular detergent in the wash machine or you can take the #activewearchallenge and soak your clean (already washed) athletic wear, socks, sheets, tights/leggings, hats, etc for an hour and see the FILTH you get out! I posted my results on my Instagram. I also like Rockin’ Green’s detergent formulated for HARD water–because hard water doesn’t clean as well, and the makeup of hard water means totally different effects on your clothing. You can buy samples of their detergents, and they even send a pH strip so you can test your water and know exactly which detergent will work best. The samples come with a coupon that equals the price of the sample–so if you decide to purchase again in the future, you can apply the coupon towards your order, and it is like you got the sample for free.

MGF_sample_768.pngI also really like the laundry products from MyGreenfills. If you are looking to reduce waste, they offer a refillable laundry detergent and softener solution. (They send one jug and after that you get concentrate refills.) I have tried samples of their Laundry Wash (detergent), Laundry Rinse (softener), Non-Toxic Stain Stick, Enzyme Stain Remover, Oxyboost Brightener, and have their Dryer Angel. Check out their samples here. I initially bought the 5 load sample kit for $15 and purchased a Dryer Angel Kit separately so that I could give it all a try. The dryer angel is an alternative to dryer sheets and it smells amazing. (Kit includes two refills and each refill last approx. 30 loads.) I was happy with all of the products, the wash is my primary detergent, and I also use  the stain stick and dryer angel a lot.

Bentonite Clay

cart images_0034_detox clayRead my Bentonite Clay 101 blog post here. Bentonite Clay is my favorite thing in the whole world. It is a healing clay that removes toxins from the body. It is composed of volcanic ash and is unique in its ability to produce a strong negative electrical charge when added to water. As it comes into contact with toxins and viruses (that mostly carry positive charges), it bonds with them and then passes it out of the body. At the height of my digestive issues (read about that here), it was the first product I implemented into my lifestyle. It immediately started regularizing my bathroom habits. I mix about half a teaspoon of clay in 4oz. of water and stir with a NON METAL spoon. I drink this bentonite clay mix once a day. I also make facial masks, body wraps, and clay baths using this clay. I buy this kind for putting on my body and this kind for ingesting.

Green Teas

There are so many positive health benefits from drinking green tea. This particular Yogi tea is one of my favorites I have tried. Matcha is my all time favorite tea though. It gives a clean energy that I have never been able to achieve from coffee because of my sensitive digestive issues and anxiety. The caffeine from matcha green tea is balanced because of the L-theanine and other properties that increase serotonin and dopamine. It makes me feel alert, but also very calm and zen like. I love the feeling. This is the organic matcha tea I buy, here.

Essential Oils

revive-basics-kit-1.jpgI would only truly recommend a couple of essential oil brands. My primary and current brand of essential oils I use is Revive. You can buy here, and save $10 on your order. They are wildcrafted and organic, as well as 3rd party tested for purity–and the results for each oil can be viewed on their website. If I can stress one thing it is to INVEST IN QUALITY ESSENTIAL OILS! The higher quality, the less it takes, and the better the results are. Not to mention, being able to apply oils topically and ingest them (opposed to only being able to diffuse them) is a big game changer. Ask yourself, “If it’s not safe to ingest, then is it really safe to put on my body, where it will be absorbed into my bloodstream within seconds?”

I add the lavender oil to my mascara and shampoo, and I also like to diffuse it while I’m sleeping. I use peppermint oil often, applying it topically on my stomach to aid with digestion or to help ease cramps or tummy pains. Immunity Boost oil is one of my favorite oil blends–it is immune enhancing and can help aid in easing sicknesses and viruses. I diffuse to purify the air and keep me from catching any sick bugs. I add oils to my natural deodorant. I make my own organic insect repellant from essential oils. I LOVE LOVE LOVE essential oils. Other favorites are lemon, cinnamon, frankincense, and tea tree. There are endless uses.

310 Shakes

These shakes have been the tastiest and most affordable meal replacement shakes I have come across. I highly prefer the taste, texture, and price compared to other popular brands I’ve used. They contain 40ish clean ingredients and are extremely healthy with only 90 calories per serving, with no sugar or artificial sweeteners, top-quality plant-based proteins, and a multitude of vitamins, minerals, organic superfoods and probiotics in each shake! Vanilla and Toasted coconut are my favorite flavors. Autoship is not required, but if you do sign up it reduces the 1 month supply bag from $68 to $51. (Mine is set up to ship every 60 days). You can try a small sampler kit for only $9 to test it out here. Update: they just released an ORGANIC formula!

  • 15g of pure, highest-quality Tri-Plex™ plant-based proteins
  • 5g of hunger-quenching fiber
  • Sugar, soy protein, gluten and dairy FREE!
  • Keto and Paleo friendly

I bought this collagen with the dry body brush to combat my cellulite. (See the results in my blog post, here.) Both of these things have done wonders to my skin. Women start losing collagen as early as their 20’s, and this is definitely when I started to notice my own cellulite growing at an accelerated rate. This is a natural way to get more collagen in your diet. I add it to my morning smoothie or my evening green tea. It can be added to any liquid because it has no texture and virtually no taste. I’ve also used this brand here.

Colloidal Silverimg_0185

Colloidal Silver is the bomb! It’s like an antibiotic, but it doesn’t create resistance or
immunity in the organisms it kills. It can be used for wound care and fungal infections, eye and ear infections, antiviral, boosts cell recovery, be used
as a nasal spray for sinus infections or colds, and you can even inhale it in a nebulizer to deliver fighting action to the germs inside your lungs. Get it here.

Liposomal Vitamin C

0.jpgYour body can only absorb as much oral Vitamin C, and that’s why so much of the vitamin content from pills, powders, and even foods is passed as waste. Liposomal Vitamin C is not broken down in the digestive track and passes straight into your cellular walls, allowing you to absorb large doses, and without gastric distress. I think it is the next best thing next to IV vitamin C. According to a 2019 study, white blood cells absorbed 50% more Vitamin C from Liposomal Vitamin C supplement than a Vitamin C powder. I buy this Liposomal Vitamin C here. It it is Sugar, Gluten and Soy Free, Non GMO, and Vegan.

Elderberry Apple Shots

This is the brand of elderberry syrup my family takes daily during the winter here. The Elderberry_Apple_Shots_single_with_flip_top_cap_lo_res_grande_378e1005-a3c0-4def-89f9-ce4c7758665e_1024x1024.jpgpast couple of years I have spent a small fortune of organic syrups and gummies. When I came across this company, I realized I could have more than enough elderberry for all three of us all winter for just $40 (for a 2-pack). We each take 1/4 of a teaspoon daily, which is an astonishing 660mg of elderberry in just that tiny amount–Compared to the 50 mg of elderberry the gummies we used in previous years delivered! At the serving we take, one bottle will last 216 servings or roughly 2.5 months if all 3 of us take it every day. This is our maintenance dose during the winter, but if you fall ill it is safe to take up to a tablespoon, multiple times a day.

Magnesium Spray

FullSizeRender[8]Almost everyone is deficient in magnesium, and this deficiency is hard to fix with a supplement because this mineral doesn’t absorb well orally. If you don’t have time to take an epsom salt bath, try this magnesium spray! It is super concentrated. (In fact you may  prefer to water it down.) Magnesium spray can help with improved sleep, higher energy levels, chronic pain, cramps, and anxiety.

 Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has essentially replaced all lotions, moisturizers, and conditioners in my house. I put it on constantly and I also use it to remove my eye makeup. It is has natural anti fungal/ antibacterial properties and is great for skin, hair, and your insides! I often cook desserts with it and add a spoon of it to my smoothie in the morning. Coconut oil literally has hundreds of uses. I also make suppositories using this ice stick tray to help combat yeast infections. For any local readers, the local Walmart carries this–just try to buy the organic, unrefined kind. Need coconut oil in BULK? Try this coconut oil.

Hemp Oilimage

Hemp oil is another great option for a carrier oil or to replace your lotions and moisturizers. If coconut oil works fine on your body, but you notice it (or whatever oil you are using) is clogging the pores on your face, hemp oil will be your best bet. This is the kind of hemp oil I buy, and I have started using it, mixed with essential oils, as my primary face moisturizer. It is organic and safe for skin and safe to ingest.

Roller Bottles

I love making essential oil roll ons. Some of my favorites are an immunity roller for the winter and cramp roller for that time of the month. Other great ones you can do are for anxiety, headaches, or even to get rid of warts! I buy mine here.

Grapeseed Oil & Castor Oil & Almond Oil

Grapeseed Oil is another one of my favorite carrier oils, and I also like using it as a body moisturizer. I use it most commonly in my roll on bottles. I also use it when I do my cupping massages. This is the brand I buy, and it is organic and safe for your skin and safe to ingest. I love castor oil for my hair, lashes, and brows. And this almond oil is another one of my favorites!

Feminine Wash

My gynecologist suggested to me that although I’m using all organic bath products, the soap I’m washing with “down there” still may not be formulated in a way to keep my  lady bits happy. She recommended using a pH balancing wash, and I did, but I made sure it was organic as well. Sliquid Organics Splash Balance Gentle Feminine Wash can be bought here. I use the honeydew and cucumber scent and I love it!

A quick google search will show you that it is estimated that on average women are exposed to approximately 168 different chemicals through personal care items such as makeup and lotion. That is why I buy Shea Moisture brand for my bath items, and I am hoping to try out their makeup line soon. Lotion is by far my most used product throughout the day, and here are two that I really like, and they are the largest bottles I have found (32 oz) for less than $20. Everyday Coconut and Alba Botanica.

Organic Wool Dryer Balls

imageThrow out those dryer sheets! Opt for something that will save you money and is more environmentally friendly! Reduce your drying time, save on energy costs, and have fluffier, fresh smelling laundry! These dryer balls are good for 1000-1500 loads. Just add the essential oil of your choosing–3 balls for small loads, 6 balls for large loads. I love using orange, lavender, and other essential oils with my dryer balls. Buy these organic wool dryer balls here.

Mini Trampoline

Read my blog, The One Exercise You Should Be Doing, to find out why I am a huge fan of rebounding! Bouncing for just minutes a day can work wonders for your lymph system, aid in weight loss, reduce cellulite, and be benificial for your bone and joint health. It’s fun and a full body detox! You can buy a mini trampoline here.

Earthing Mat

Buy your earthing mat here. Read my full blog post about earthing here. For thousands of years, humans were in direct contact with the earth’s energy. Today, we imagelive most of our lives indoors, and when we are outside, we are usually wearing shoes—which are most likely made of materials that are poor conductors, and this inhibits the health benefits that we could be getting from earth’s energy. When you have a direct connection with the earth, your body’s positive charge is reduced to zero, aka you are “grounded”. When you become grounded, every cell in your body is grounded, and your body can start healing at a cellular level. Free radicals will be able to leave your body.

Some of the health benefits include:

  • Reduced inflammation
  • Improved sleep and sleep patterns
  • Decreased pain
  • Better energy levels
  • Improved blood pressure
  • Headache and muscle relief
  • Accelerated healing
  • Reduced menstrual and hormonal symptoms, fewer PMS symptoms, fewer menopausal hot flashes
  • Improved digestion
  • Reduced stress
